Many owners ask when they should move from a free plan to a paid one. The honest answer: do not upgrade before a plan limit genuinely gets in the way of your business. This article uses the real Bakasir plan limits to help you decide when a small business needs to upgrade from the Free plan, and when it should simply stay.
The Free plan limits and the plans above it
The data below comes from the published plan details at the time of writing. Figures can change, so check the pricing page for the latest version.

The Enterprise plan starts at Rp799,000 per outlet per month with a minimum of five outlets through the sales team, and every plugin is included. Annual billing equals 10 times the monthly price.
When to upgrade from the Free plan: the signs
1. Transactions are nearing 300 a month. This is the clearest signal. Three hundred transactions a month is about 10 a day. As an illustration: a shop with 8 transactions a day makes about 240 a month and still fits the Free plan, while a shop with 15 a day makes about 450 and will pass the limit. When the quota runs out, new online sales are declined until the month rolls over or you upgrade. Sales that already happened while a device was offline are still accepted when they sync, and the owner and cashier are notified. Data is not deleted and the account is not locked.
2. More than 100 products. One product per size or flavor uses up 100 products fast. Use variants first to save on the count. If your catalog really is in the thousands, the Mulai plan allows up to 2,000 products.
3. You need more than one cashier or one terminal. The Free plan gives 1 terminal and the owner plus 1 cashier. Mulai gives 3 staff; Tumbuh gives 3 terminals and 10 staff per outlet. An extra terminal is Rp49,000 a month and an extra staff seat Rp15,000 a month.
4. Customers want to pay with dynamic QRIS. Dynamic QRIS through your own Midtrans account is available from the Mulai plan. If static QRIS is enough for you, that is not a reason to upgrade. Read QRIS at the register.
5. You need report history beyond 31 days. The Free plan keeps 31 days of report history. If you compare month to month, export a PDF or Excel file each month as a stopgap, or upgrade.
6. You need a feature that only paid plans have. Examples are automatic promotions (Mulai), the Owner app for watching from a phone (Mulai), and table management with the kitchen display, loyalty, the online store and the Report Builder (Tumbuh). Other plugins such as Accounting and HRM are priced separately, or included in Enterprise.
7. Receipts without the Bakasir mark. If the look of your receipt matters to your brand, paid plans remove that mark.
Signs that you do not need to upgrade yet
- Transactions are well below 300 a month.
- One cashier and one device are enough.
- The catalog is under 100 products.
- You are happy with static QRIS and cash.
- 31 days of reports is enough, or you export regularly.
In that case, stay on the Free plan. There is no pressure to upgrade; the Free plan does not expire.
Test first with the trial
A new account gets the Tumbuh plan free for 14 days with no card. If you do not subscribe, the account drops to the Free plan automatically, is not suspended, and your data stays. Use that period to try the features you suspect you need. For a paid plan that is not renewed, there is a 3-day grace period after the due date, then 7 days of read-only access, after which the account returns to the Free plan. A renewal reminder is sent 7 days before the due date.
Working out the value of upgrading
Rp99,000 a month is about Rp3,300 a day. The question is whether the features you get save or earn you more than that. For example, if dynamic QRIS speeds up payment matching or the Owner app cuts your check-in visits, the value can be higher. Work it out with your own business numbers. If you decide to upgrade, plan payments run through Midtrans, and any gateway admin fee is shown on the payment page before you pay.
Next steps
Look at last month's transaction count on the dashboard, compare it with 300, and note the features you are missing. Also compare it with what you really get on the Free plan and the POS selection checklist.
